You may have already heard about the age-old kitchen design rule known as the “Golden Triangle.” The simple concept here is that the three appliances you use the most (typically the refrigerator, stove, and sink) should be aligned to form the three points of a triangle if you saw the kitchen from a birdseye view.
These days, dining is going casual. For those opposed to dedicating a whole room to formal entertaining, consider carving out a separate area of your kitchen for the task. A dining nook gives you the extra seating you need while still remaining useful in your day-to-day life.
For a bold effect, select a countertop in a lively color. While some of the top choices include yellows, oranges and lime green, the choice of white or black countertops can be as bold a color choice as yellow, depending on the kitchen.
A kitchen can look finished without a backsplash, and sometimes a clean coat of (washable) paint is what best executes a design. But at the same time, there’s also an opportunity to use the space to anchor the overall design of the room.
